Dove Field Day is quickly approaching on May 23rd!! The Field Day is one of the highlights of the year! It's a full day of running, jumping, fun, games, races, popcorn, snocones, sunshine, laughter and smiles!! We will need a lot of volunteers for this event. We can't give our kids this special day without help from you. Daycare is provided during your shift for those of you with future Dove Dolphins. Field Day entry packets have gone home. Extra practices will be held for DDD and Choir for the next few weeks so that we may prepare for our Spring Concert on May 14th! A schedule has been sent home with your child. A Choir Dress Rehearsal will be held from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the GHS Auditorium on Tuesday, May 13th.

Don't miss this one of a kind concert given by the Dove ELementary School Spring Choir, with opening act by the "Dynamic Drummers"! This spring, we'll be doing a TRIBUTE TO "JOURNEY", some of the greatest hits by the famous San Fransico rock band! Come out, sing along, and experience a rock concert atmosphere like you've never seen from an elementary school before! WE'LL SEE YOU THERE!
All participating students must arrive by 6:45pm.

| Destination Imagination Tournament Winners! |
|
On March 8th, Dove had three teams that participated in the Destination Imagination Tournament. Each team worked hard all year preparing, creating, and building their challenge.
 One of our teams, the DI Dolphins, performed the Hit or Myth Challenge and not only won 2nd place and are going to the STATE TOURNAMENT (April 4-5), but they won a special award called the Renaissance Award!! Only one team out of ALL the participants win this one...it is given to a team who demonstrated outstanding design, engineering, execution and performance. There are only three special awards and this was one of them! Over a hundred teams participated this year! We are so proud of these students! Their hard work and determination paid off in a big way!!
Congratulations to Peyton Link, Gabrielle Salamone, Daly Young, Rebecca Wirick, and Nicole Friend for winning 2nd place and the Renaissance Award, and also to the other two teams who participated. You're the best!

 Wednesday's Child is a non-profit organization working to help children. Beginning March 25th, our school will be collecting for Wednesday's Child Charity. We have been asked to collect coins for children. This will be a fun way to help raise money to help support in need. Sponsored by Dove Elementary Student Council. More information...

Bessie Jackson was the recipient of the Friend of Children Award at the Founder's Day Luncheon on February 21. This award is given to a PTA President who does an outstanding job working with the children and always putting them first! Congratulations Bessie!! You deserve it!

The Mad Science after-school program begins March 31st from 3:00-4:30pm each Monday for six weeks.

Once again, the Dove Dad's Club out did themselves! The decorations were awesome and the moms and children really seemed to be enjoying themselves! Thanks to all the volunteers that put this special tribute to Dove moms together! Pictures are online now!

The 2008 Talent Show was a huge success! The talent was coming from every corner of the stage on Thursday and Friday night at Dove! The show was a lot of fun and our students did a great job! We had over 60 acts between the two evenings. A big thanks goes to Mariann Brown, our talent show producer! Thanks for another great year! Pictures are online now!

| Central Market Fundraising Program |

Central Market in Southlake is participating in a Fundraising Foodie program. We have provided every Dove student a "swipe" card that will give our school 5% of the total purchase. If you shop at Central Market, please use this card so that we can receive the money. At the checkout counter, they have posted big banners on the wall that show a running total for money Dove has made through this program.
