Hello Dove Dolphins,

My name is Bessie Jackson and I am your PTA President for the 2007-2008 school year. I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and enjoyed the extra time at home. School has begun and PTA is in full swing. Please consider joining Dove PTA this year and come to all the exciting events at Dove.

You can support your child through volunteer opportunities at school or home, you don't have to be at every function. Pick the things you enjoy and come help with those events. Reading with your child, helping with homework, sending items needed by the teachers will all result in a positive learning experience for your child. We will have activities every month, so watch your calendar and sign up to help out. Often things need to be done before events or can be done from home, so please don't hesitate to get involved. Our website has all the latest information, sign ups, and pictures from events.

Last year we were able to accomplish quite a bit. We installed the shade shelter over the playground equipment, painted a Texas mural in the cafeteria, a security door was installed in the lobby, 7 new keyboards in the music room, lots of books for the literacy library, and many other items were purchased at the teachers' request. This year we hope to have as many things to show for our involvement at Dove.
